On July 7th, bikes, quads, cars and trucks entered the first stage of the Rally and headed towards the lake Baikal
The official podium ceremony marked the beginning of the 9th edition of the Silk Way Rally.
The competitors crossed the start podium on Speransky Square in Irkutsk, right next to the majestic Angara river. Welcome speeches, introduction of participants, passage through the podium and enthusiastic support of the spectators – the race has finally started.
The ceremony started with a welcome speech of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, which was read by Andrey Abrusevich, the Chief Federal Inspector for the Irkutsk Region of the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District.
Bikes and quads were the first to get on the start podium — for the first time in its history Silk Way Rally establishes bike and quad categories.

Preparation of layouts, maps and 3D visualization of dedicated construction and decoration; construction of interview and photo zones
Staff and event management
Monitoring the contractors, responsible for the installation of video and audio equipment. Selection of promotional staff (guest service, competitors’ service, media accreditation)
Design and manufacturing of gift products
Design of gifts for event guests. Design, printing and distribution of guest invitations to the event
